News & Updates
Cancer has touched all of us in some way, and we want to stop this disease in its tracks. That’s why we Relay… because, when you Relay, you help save lives. This year’s event theme was “Once Upon A Cure” which meant that there were a great deal of princesses present at the event. However, Signature HealthCARE of Monroe County went a different Disney direction with a Lilo & Stitch theme.
One of the main themes of the movie centers around the word “Ohana.” Ohana means family, and family means nobody gets left behind or forgotten. We wanted to say that this community is our family and that we are here if anyone should need us. Our event site was centered around the beach/Hawaiian theme of the movie, but we made sure to put some good tips in there as well such as use sunscreen, get cancer screenings, and live happy.

On Tuesday, May 2nd, 2017, one of our elders, David Barnett, was part of an amazing spiritual experience at Signature HealthCARE of Monroe County! David was baptized last night by Brother Tim McHenry and became a member of Mt. Gilead Church of Christ. Those of us present were blessed to witness his baptism, and, as you can see from pictures, it took family, friends, and Stakeholders!
Signature HealthCARE’s official Spring Break Day on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 was a huge success!!! Spring Break Day is a “one day, fun-filled event for all the residents to get out and explore their inner youth,” and Signature HealthCARE of Monroe County’s Elders decided that they wanted to do it Carnival Style!
There were games for Elders and Stakeholders to play such as ring toss, bowling, plinko, blackjack, and marshmallow therapy, music playing, and tons of food. During their break from games, Elders were chowing down on hot dogs, popcorn, ice cream, and other delicious goodies.

More than 1,000 Signature staff members registered for the recent Spirituality LearnFEST, a virtual learning conference that encouraged participants to consider the impact of spirituality, if fully activated, in a long-term care environment.
And that number doesn’t even include the many who joined in groups, in offices, breakrooms and wherever there were TVs or computers at Signature centers across 10 states to view the live broadcast. The event featured sessions that tied spirituality to numerous aspects of long-term care and health care, from clinical care to legislative involvement and the impact of spirituality in the workplace.

Expansion. Adaptation. Innovation.
These words, in many ways, defined 2014 for Signature HealthCARE. The Revolution brought our total number of locations to 125. We welcomed new centers to the family and took pivotal steps to position SHC as an integrated care network capable of meeting health care needs across the full spectrum of care. We expanded into new business lines while continuing to enhance and invest in existing service offerings.
